NORTH ALABAMA VALUES A STRONG ECONOMY
North Alabamians know the value of hardwork. We want to provide for our families, stay ahead on our bills, and save for retirement. Politicians like to talk about economic recovery, but the reality for the average North Alabamian is long hours and stagnant wages. Our economy should reward hard work and provide opportunity for advancement.
North Alabama Values Affordable Health Care
North Alabamians want to know that no matter what happens in our unpredictable economy, we’ll be able to provide the security of reliable, affordable, quality health insurance for us and for our children without the risk of financial ruin. We want to be able to go to the doctor’s office without the fear of going broke. We want quality health care without the fear of skyrocketing insurance premiums. We shouldn’t have to choose between life saving medication and buying groceries for the week or paying the power bill. And we want policy makers to act in our best interests not the best interests of insurance and pharmaceutical executives.
North Alabama Values Quality Education
North Alabamians know that education provides a solid foundation for the rest of life. We know that all children regardless of race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, or gender deserve the very best educational opportunities. Parents across North Alabama--in rural areas, in the inner cities, and in the suburbs--want the very best for our children. We want to see them learn and grow and develop into hard working, productive members of society. We want our kids to be able to go to college without crippling debt. We want our kids to know that even if four year college is not for them, they will have the opportunities to learn a trade and make an honest living. Our legislative priorities should reflect these values.
North Alabama Values Reliable Infrastructure
North Alabamians know that a building is only as strong as its foundation, and as such, we need to modernize America’s economic foundation--our infrastructure. We see the crumbling infrastructure across North Alabama. We know our roads, bridges, and airports are in need of repair. We know that revitalizing our infrastructure will not only improve our quality of life, but it will also improve the flows of goods and services that propel our economy. North Alabama has long been a hub of innovation and technological advancement, and we know that the expansion of critical infrastructure across the district will bring those opportunities to all North Alabamians.
